This is a very exciting, very challenging role and in an industry that typically recruits from within, it is rare to find an entry level opportunity with real prospects of professional growth.
As Europe’s largest manufacturer of time critical, highly technical printed circuit boards, our client designs, supports and delivers bespoke circuit boards to companies in the Aerospace, Medical, Telecoms, Military and Defence industries.
Experts in the manufacturing of circuit boards that go into harsh environments – for example, environments that are very hot, dusty, humid or very cold, or environments that will go from one extreme to another, this company’s expertise is in building extremely technical, 100% reliable printed circuits in a short period of time.
Based from home, you will manage a territory running from South Wales – Swindon - Oxford – Southampton and along the SW coast. This is a large territory and whilst your target marketplace is well defined, you must be prepared and able to stay away from home during the week, at times. You will be given some existing accounts, but your main focus will be to identify, nurture and develop new business opportunities within new and existing accounts, through the delivery of exceptional customer service.
You will benefit from a full induction which will involve spending time at each of the manufacturing plants in the UK, in-field with the experienced team and within the Customer Service team, to build an understanding of how the company fits together. The Sales and Marketing Director will mentor you and as you become more confident in your role, you will take on more and more responsibility for your territory and own client base.
In order to spot new business, you will have the use of a large database, but your own research on the internet and networking within the industry at events and through the contacts you make will also be invaluable. The first year will be tough and it will be hard work, but you will have all the help you could possibly need and if you have the right attitude and work ethic, you will enjoy success.
There will be a lot to learn about the product and the technical side of things, and ideally, you will have a technical background. HOWEVER. Most important is that you are commercially minded, energetic, proactive and driven. You will have access to full technical support from the technical team when you need it, and it is your attitude and commitment to building a long term career that will secure success in this role.
As Europe makes up over 30% of the company’s revenue, you must be prepared to travel abroad from time to time.
They are looking for someone who is dynamic and organised – someone who is willing to work hard, to use initiative and to listen to your customers’ needs. They want someone who is keen, enthusiastic and who wants to develop within a growing yet mature business.
