Job Description

IT Graduate trainee Programmer (Java, HTML, Javascript, CSS, automated Testing, SQL)

Salary: £17,000 to £20,000 + Bonus + Pension

A Junior Programmer is required by an exciting software house in central Leicester. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team in a Java, Oracle environment. An agile approach to software development is used (Kanban) and the successful candidate will be a crucial part of the life-cycle.

The successful candidate will be under the general supervision of a Senior Programmer on the companys flagship product.

Essential skills

IT degree to include studies in Java (and ideally some experience of HTML, Javascript and CSS)
OO Design skills
Ideally an understanding and appreciation of automated testing
Ideally some experience of SQL
Intelligent and motivated with a professional attitude to working with others.
Ability to think through a problem, suggest multiple possible solutions, and provide sensible pros and cons for each.
Be prepared to plan work, produce estimates, adhere to timescales and deliver work accordingly
Have a desire to learn and be able to learn quickly.
Keep up with industry trends and new technologies

Understanding of Agile software development processes (Scrum, Kanban etc)
