Sales Manager (IT Security / Data Storage) £60K OTE, Worthing

Position: Sales Manager
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Salary: Excellent Basic OTE £60K

The recent merger of GSS and Peapod creates one of the largest security integrators and consultancy firms in the UK.
Previously GSS and Peapod have partnered with best-in-class vendors to identify and solve security threats and issues. As threats have increased in both their subtlety and severity over the years they have built on existing partnerships and introduced new technologies and a range of independent consulting services to help their customers meet the evolving challenges of today.
Their areas of expertise are many and varied. GSS have many years experience delivering solutions, to over 2500 clients, that address the issues surrounding securing data. These range from firewalls and VPN's, complete content control including data leakage, encryption and patch management through to wireless network security.
ROLE:
Working within the ProDefence department which is a self contained division of GSS. It is a distributor of various security and storage solutions to the channel. The Sales Manager is responsible for building and developing the division.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Achieving corporate sales targets.
b) Managing relationships with reseller clients and vendor partners.
c) Bring new business into the company.
e) Keeping up to date with developments within industry and product ranges.
f) Manage regular sales meeting.
g) Motivate, support, train and mentor sales staff.
h) Ensure all staff personal development plans are executed fully.
i) Act as a representative of the company at all times.
j) Maintain accurate sales forecasts.
k) The recruitment of sales staff (in conjunction with HR).
l) Working with the Marketing department to ensure sales objectives are achieved.
m) Ensuring the sales team as a whole work in accordance with the corporate Vision and Values.
n) Be responsible for the P/L of the division.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience of working within a senior IT sales role is essential.
b) You must be a dynamic, positive, self-motivated individual that will make a valuable contribution to the business.
c) Excellent time management and communication skills along with a professional and polite manner with a flexible approach to the role and hours involved are required.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Any knowledge of IT security is highly desirable.
b) Previous experience of channel sales or dealing with resellers or 3rd parties would be an advantage.
